The mission of the International Christian Centers for the Deaf (ICCD) is to reach the Deaf in the world with the Gospel of Christ with priority given to those without access to the Gospel. The ministry of ICCD includes the planting of churches for the Deaf (Cuba) and the establishment of residential and church schools (Mexico).

Tom and Debbie have been serving the Lord in deaf ministries since 1989 and have served with the International Christian Centers for the Deaf since 1993. Tom is the Assistant to the Director. Tom also plans and coordinates work teams which provide construction on the field. Tom and Debbie’s responsibilities include the management of the International Headquarters in Roanoke, VA, Public Relations, and the oversight of the Child Sponsorship and Missionary Recruitment Programs.

They have 3 boys, Mitch, Zac and Joseph, a lovely daughter-in-law, Shannon, and two granddaughters, Alayna and Kylie.

Why the Deaf?
The “World Federation of the Deaf” has recently stated that there are approximately 70 million deaf people in the world today! 80% of these live in developing countries where education opportunities for deaf children are rare or basically non-existent. The Deaf in these countries are considered a huge liability without any hope or future. The primary goal of ICCD is to reach these deaf with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jer. 29:11)

Prayer Requests:

• Pray that God would open the hearts and minds of the Deaf to the Gospel.

• Pray that God would send more work teams and career missionaries to help reach the Deaf for Christ.

• Pray for the Turners; for God’s provision of wisdom, strength, protection and support
