Japan

Mark and Jin Rood are engaged in Campus ministry with the Navigators. Their work with university students in the Tokyo area takes the form of the B.E.S.T. Club. BEST represents Bible, English, Sports, and Travel. The majority of the students in BEST made their first encounter with the Bible through the weekly discussions that meet in Mark and Jin's home.

Mark and Jin have 3 children, Abbie, Josiah and Kayla.

Why Japan?

Japan, while being the number two economy in the world, is also one of the spiritually most needy. The Japanese are one of the largest unreached people groups in the world. Less than 1% of the 120 million Japanese have received the message of the gospel. The church, instead of growing, has experienced a shrinking of its influence in the Japanese culture.

Prayer Requests:

• Pray that God would open the hearts and minds of the people of Japan.

• Pray that God would send more long-term missionaries into this harvest field.
