Our 2010 Uganda Mission Trip Uganda, economically, is one the poorest countries in the world with a family average income of $400 to $800 a year depending if you live in rural or urban areas. This "Pearl of Africa," as it was called during the colonial days, has a history of civil unrest that has torn this country and proud people apart. Even though some government stability has returned, those left with the aftermath take on a survival life style where the people are hurting and needing so much. Though living in an austere environment, the smiling faces of the children and young people tell a story of hope and happiness not seen in the affluent societies around the world. It was to this field that God led our team of 15 adults and teens to lift up His name to this people who have been tormented by the ways of Satan. GVBC's missionaries, Terry and Debbie Nester, had planned and arranged a rigorous 10-day ministry schedule in urban and rural communities that involved:
Even though the team and individual preparations of fund raising, planning, Bible studying, lesson training, and material gathering was thorough, our hearts were overwhelmed with the needs of the people and the love of their children. The goal of Gospel seed planting and watering was accomplished in the hearts and minds of the Ugandans we met, as well as those of the team. |
